Huh? What on earth are sitsit? Sitsit are an academic dinner party where you get to enjoy a three-course meal, sing, and enjoy good company. This year, the fresher sitsit will be held on October 3rd in the lovely Alina Hall. In addition to the starter, main course, and dessert, the sitsit will include two glasses of wine, a welcome drink, two shots, coffee, and tea. The entire menu will be vegan, and all drinks have a non-alcoholic option available. Many of the songs sung at sitsit are set to familiar tunes, but with lyrics often tailored to reflect the student mindset. These lyrics can be found in the Matrix songbook, which you can buy (8e) with cash or MobilePay during the sitsit, or alternatively before the event by catching a board member at the Komero. About a week before the event, a more detailed description of the sitsit schedule and etiquette will be sent by email to those who have registered. However, the general outline of the evening will be as follows: You can arrive starting from 17:30. This is when the cocktail reception begins, where you can enjoy a welcome drink and chat with friends. Seating begins at 18:00, and we hope everyone can be there by then, but it's okay to join even if you're late. We'll start the sitsit with a quick introduction to the customs of the dinner party and then continue with the event itself. There will be two approximately 15-minute breaks between the meals. Altogether, the sitsit will last about six hours, after which you can head to Klusteri (Leppäsuonkatu 11) for the afterparty. The dress code for the sitsit is cocktail, so wear, for example, a dark short dress or a dark suit. Registration begins on Friday, September 19th at 14:00 on the Kide.app website. There are 50 seats reserved for freshers and 30 seats for senior students. Please register through your own quota. It's recommended to register quickly, as spots are limited and usually fill up fast!
